The answer to " Why is this happening to me ? "

Practicality : The soul takes hundreds of years before it descends on the earth again after the death of its previous body. So at the time of descending again, it would be in conversation with the Supreme through the Lord Yama Dharma. Depending on the good karma delivered in the previous life, the best suitable body type is allotted. The soul would get to choose from the available choices for its next incarnation. So the soul depending upon its own level of spiritual enlightenment, would choose a body and the circumstances it wants to live in. So the soul is aware of its choice for the next life. But, by the time it descends and when it touches the ground, the divine memory is blocked due to the contact with the earth. And the mind keeps asking the soul " Why am I here, why am I going through all this ? What did I do that I deserved all this ?"

The difficulties are given as a blessing to us to get rid of the bad karma. So it is THE BEST to go through the challenges in life. Else, if we try to find shortcuts, the karma gets carried over and it can dissipate and take a new form . We need to develop the perseverance to go through the challenges. The good things which happen to us, exhaust the all the Punya that we had earned.
Hence spiritually it is not necessary to keep asking for good things to happen as they WILL. We never need to ask for bad things, as we can never spare ourselves from the karma anyway. But the impact of the bad karma can be considerably reduced by the only way of doing good and earning higher Punya to balance out the bad karma.

There are a lot of thoughts floating around and a whole lot of belief systems which are influenced by the ideology that " We have just one life, let us focus on those 80 years ". This is not a thing that is approved of here. It is necessary that only the body dies. The soul is an immortal entity. We need to upgrade ourselves to the level of thinking in terms of the journey of the soul. That is when we will understand the consequences of any action that is performed on this earth. When our thoughts get upgraded to this level, our actions too get corrected in accordance. That is really when a global good can actually happen.

Understanding the ascendant, the moon sign and the Sun sign

The ascendant  - This is what defines us as a material entity. It is the bodily composition and the basic nature that is inherited by us from the past lives through the subtle bodies that the soul carries with it. So the ascendant describes those immutable properties of the individual to a considerable extent.

The sun sign - The sun signifies the father. So the sun sign defines the nature of the Egocentric personality of the individual. The sign in which the sun is present defines the type of ego that native possesses. 

The moon sign - Moon signifies the mother. Hence, the moon defines the emotional nature of the being. So the sign in which the moon is present defines the emotional characteristics of the individual.

It is now very apparent that we lead life based on all these 3 aspects of life. Our immutable nature influences our decisions. Our ego also influences our decisions. So does our emotional side. All 3 are important, but the “ Me “ is finally defined spiritually by the ascendant. The “ Me” that lives the material life is influenced by the Ego or the Sun. The  “ Me “ that seeks emotions or love is defined by the Moon. Depending on which is the strongest of the three, the individual leads that type of life. 

Western astrology is influenced by more of material world and success here. So there is a feeling that the “ I “ can control life and the happenings. So it is empirically based on Sun sign.

Our vedas believe that the emotional detachment can only happen in the absolute sense only when the individual crosses the material bondage completely. So our emotions are what drive our life along with ego and along with the immutable Ascendant characteristics. So our vedic astrology is based on the moon signs and transits are also based on the house in which the moon is located in the birth chart. For determining deeply spiritual influences and yogas, the ascendant plays an undisputed more important role than the moon.

People often associate the transit of planets with Lagna and the position of Ravi too. But we need to verify the percentage of the outcome.
